The team’s tasks are to support and set up promotion and prevention activities toward ensuring the health and well-being of children and their families and contributing to the development of children and favourable environments. The team also contributes to defining strategies for preventive intervention adapted to the needs of Nunavik families.
Ilagiilluta (Integrated Services in Perinatality and Early Childhood)
The Children and Family team has the mandate to adapt the program for Integrated Services in Perinatality and Early Childhood (ISPEC) of the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS) in collaboration with the regional partners, as well as supporting its deployment in the 14 communities. That program, adapted to the context and culture of Nunavik, bears the name of Ilagiilluta (Let’s be family). Further, it will integrate the Baby book, a parental skills program developed by Kativik School Board and the prevention program relative to foetal alcohol syndrome disorder (FASD) developed on the Hudson coast.
